Halloween Cheer 1: The Special Surprise

It is finally that time of year again, and I have plans to do another series, a sort of "proper follow-up" to October Tails. I've already written the first two entries ahead of time (i.e., in September), and here's the first one now!

  1. It's similar to the "Wolfbite" one, though I can't make out why he would transgender this time. ;D
Here's a tiny question:he just change in confusion and haze, then stunned by orgasm and fall into feminity...Does the candy involves mind changing as well?

    1. Frenella's 'change candies' are supposed to taste better the more that the person eating them would enjoy the resulting form, whether that person is originally aware of that enjoyment or not. That said, they have to at least make some minor mental tweaks to allow a person who (for example) hasn't had a tail before to be coordinated enough with one to not fall over when trying to walk, so there's a good argument that the magic also includes some help with feeling comfortable in the new appearance--but nothing forcing the person being transformed to feel something against that person's will. I guess physically enjoying the experience of change would at least make someone initially feel happy with the new change, no matter how she would feel after having some time to think about it later, but I don't think of that as a mental change (or at least, certainly not a permanent one).

I guess most transformation magic in this world has components like that built in, for one reason or another. Whatever the in-canon reason is, the meta reason is just that it's how I enjoy writing these things most of the time.

    2. Thank you for answering with such long words!
Personally,I think the changed form would very much do something to people's mind(by feeling cute, small, gorgeous or something else),so they would consider themselves female, and even find boys cute.
For example,in "Mutual Mentor","The Cutest Bodyguard"and"October Darkness",characters would feel wrong to be boys again.I think the magical's help with feeling comfortable may have somehow turned them into "natural girls".
With just extreme feelings and "cute thoughts",it's a bit dramatic that their male side existing for so long got completedly smashed up lol.

May I ask the reason Cayden turns female in this caption?I don't think he'd ever give any misinterpreting thoughts to the Candy.Maybe Frenella had made it an tg effect regardless of eater's will?
      Also,fantastic works!
(I'm not a native English speaker, please excuse me if I'm being rude or failed to express my opinion correctly.I should have these words and my thoughts better written but I have no time.)
(I enjoy reading these things——boys accidently turn into girls and gradual like the results as well ;D.)

    3. Basically, this "brand new, specially-made" candy is actually a prototype of sorts. Frenella hasn't made something quite like this before, only things that had a set "target form". She knows it isn't dangerous, and that the return-to-normal part works (since she's done that before, in fact "The Girl on the Couch" is some of the early testing of that feature). But the candy's enchantment is maybe too overzealous in looking for "what form the person wants" and digs into unconscious desires in addition to conscious ones, maybe even misinterpreting one or both to some extent. Also, the risk of "wild magic" with semi-unpredictable results scales with the complexity of the thing you're trying to do, and this is a pretty complex effect.

    4. Oh, I meant to respond to the earlier part too...
It varies from one case to another, but I don't usually intend to portray the magic itself as altering anyone's mind to the extent of wanting to be female purely because "the magic said so". Two of those I would say are supposed to be the case of someone "tasting the other side" and deciding they like it better, even after getting an opportunity to change back. "Mutual Mentor" is more intended to just be a case of someone who's lived a long life as a male deciding to take the opportunity to try something new now that she's young again, at least initially, and maybe throwing herself into it a bit. And there are various other explanations for seemingly similar behavior depending on the person and situation.

Actually, the prequel to "Mutual Mentor", "Shifting Ambitions", is a rare case where the magic really is affecting the person's mind in that kind of way. In that case, he agreed to the price of his wish, and then paid it.

    5. I guess I took the words "Her mind was flooded thoughts of pretty dresses, lovely long hair, frilly clothes...boys. By the time Julius's breasts had fully developed, she found it difficult — perhaps impossible — to think of herself as anything other than a girl." too literally, to think that she's already fully thrown into feminity so she would think of so much girly stuffs.
Though in my opinion this part will very much remain the best anyway .
      Wish you nice days!

    6. I must have misremembered that particular caption then, and only skimmed it when I was typing my earlier reply. I can't really argue if I wrote something like that.

    7. I guess as a final comment to all of this, I should say that I usually think of even something like what was described there as more "addition" than "replacement"..making me object to the use of the word 'crushed' in the original comment. But anything I don't expressly say in the story is open to interpretation anyway, death of the author and all.
